Road Closure Alert Issued In Fairfield County
An emergency declaration has been put out by the Connecticut State Department of Transportation for a busy roadway in Northern Fairfield County. The CTDOT announced that on beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, there will be a closure of Route 37 South slightly north - an estimated 150 to 200 feet - of the turn for Big Trail, near the Sherman-New Fairfield line for roadwork. Crash Causes Gridlock On I-95 Stretch
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of I-95 early Monday evening after a crash that initially blocked the left lane. The incident occurred on the southbound side between Center Street (Exit 19) in Westport and Sherwood Island (Exit 18). There was stopped traffic at the scene of the crash and stop-and-go delays of up to a half hour to Black Rock Turnpike (Exit 24) in Fairfield until the lane reopened around 7 p.m. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

New Round Of Weekday Roadwork Scheduled On I-684
There will be weekday lane closures for several days on I-684 as contracting crews continue maintenance work. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an advisory cautioning that from 9:30 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., there will be closures on the northbound lanes of the interstate between exit 2 (Route 120) and exit 3 (Route 22) in Harrison and North Castle. The work is planned from Tuesday, Sept. 4, through Friday, Sept. 7. Officials said that motorists can expect delays, and flaggers will be in the area to assist with the flow of traffic.

Crash Causes Lengthy Delays On I-95
This story has been updated. The Labor Day weekend started off with a crawl -- on a stretch of I-95 in Fairfield County, at least. A serious crash initially took out the right lane on the southbound side in Darien between Noroton Avenue (Exit 10) and Route 1/Post Road (Exit 9). There was stopped traffic at the scene and stop-and-go delays of about a half-hour to Exit 13 after the incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. There were residual delays after the lane reopened about an hour later.

Serious Crash Causes Gridlock On Hutch
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway late Friday afternoon following a serious crash with at least one injury reported. The southbound crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. near the Mobil station in White Plains. There was stopped traffic at the scene of the crash and stop-and-go delays to the I-287 split.

This story has been updated. There was gridlock on a stretch of the Hutchinson River Parkway late Saturday morning following a serious crash. The crash, on the northbound side, occurred at North Street/Route 127 (Exit 25) in Harrison. Delays stretched back to Pinebrook Boulevard in New Rochelle before the crash was cleared by 11 a.m.

Weekend Roadway Shutdown Starts During Maintenance Work In Fairfield County
A busy roadway in Fairfield County will be shut down for the weekend as crews do maintenance work in the area. The Monroe Police Department issued an alert cautioning that Route 25 will be closed from Brook Street to Knollwood Street, as they install a new box culvert at the Aquarion Reservoir. Police noted that the work zone will extend through the shopping plaza south of Knollwood Street with alternating traffic on Route 25.
