Helen Collins, 90, Yonkers Resident and N.Y. Telephone Employee YONKERS, N.Y. -- Helen Collins, 90, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Feb. 10. Helen was born to the late David and Margaret Anderson on Nov. 22, 1924. She married her husband, Daniel, in 1943 while he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He preceded her in death in 2005. They raised their family in the Bronx before moving to Yonkers in 1970. Helen was a 20-year employee of New York Telephone. John was born Dec. 8, 1926 in the Bronx, N.Y. to Joseph LoMedico and Anna Barone. Raised in the Bronx, he served in the U.S. Army in the Allied occupation of Japan following World War II.
