Pace Law School Hosts National Environmental Law Competition PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Jeffrey G. Miller Pace National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition (NELMCC) is being held at Pace Law School through Saturday, Feb. 21. The competition was renamed last year in honor of Emeritus Professor Jeffrey G. Miller and his contributions to Pace Law School and the competition. The NELMCC regularly attracts over 200 competitors from diverse law schools and over 175 attorneys who serve as judges for the three days of oral arguments, making it the largest interschool moot court competition under one roof. Greenwich High Grad Gets Promotion To White House Post GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich native Jen Psaki got a promotion to the White House on Thursday, when she was named to head the communications team for President Barack Obama. Psaki, a 1996 graduate of Greenwich High School, will take over her new duties April 1. She is currently the spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department. She will replace Jennifer Palmieri, who is leaving the White House to work with Hillary Clinton in an expected bid to run for president in 2016. Overturned Vehicle Blocks Lane On Taconic; Accident On Route 100 This story has been updated. WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- An overturned vehicle blocked one lane on the southbound side of the Taconic State Parkway on Friday morning. The accident, reported at 7:50 a.m., occurred between Route 9A and the the Sprain Brook Parkway in Hawthorne. An accident was also reported on northbound Route 100 in Amawalk between Old Route 100 and Route 35. That accident occurred around 8:20 a.m.

Bridgeport Detectives Seek Help in Identifying Suspect In 2011 Homicide BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Bridgeport police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a possible suspect in an Oct. 16, 2011, fatal shooting on Boston Avenue. Shawn Parks, 37, was fatally shot outside Bishop’s Corner Café at Boston and Bishop avenues. Detectives are releasing security video secured from inside the bar shortly before the shooting. Norwalk's Human Services Council Honors Mentors NORWALK, Conn. -- The Human Services Council of Norwalk celebrated mentors and mentees of the Norwalk Mentor Program with a special evening at Stepping Stones Museum on Thursday, Jan. 29. Stamford-Based AmeriCares Names New Clinic Director In Bridgeport STAMFORD, Conn. – Janet Yon of Weston has been named the new director of the Weisman AmeriCares Free Clinic of Bridgeport. Stamford-Based Synchronized Skating Teams Add To Medal Count STAMFORD, Conn. --The Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating team won gold and silver at the Connecticut Synchronized Skating Classic last weekend at the Northford Ice Pavilion.
