? On Monday afternoon, two bombs went off during the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring about 175. Of the 14 Stamford residents competing in the race, 10 finished but all were safe.

? In response to the bombing in Boston, Stamford increased security and asked for residents to be on alert for suspicious behavior in the city.

? A “prolific apartment burglar” was charged Tuesday for burglaries he committed in Stamford back in 2002. Police said a “distinctive hat” he wore tipped off police in Westchester County, which led to his arrest. 

? Music fans were delighted to find out the headlining acts for Stamford’s annual Alive@Five concert series on Thursday afternoon.

? A suspect was found in Las Vegas and brought back to Stamford to be charged in the sexual assault of his 4-year-old niece.

? Friday morning, police had killed one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing during a shootout, and locked down much of the Boston area looking for the second suspect. Law enforcement believed a third suspect may have gotten on a train into Connecticut, stalling Metro-North trains and creating lengthy delays.

? Chelsea Piers Connecticut hosted the seventh and final leg of the Xodus 7 Continent Challenge, a global squash event featuring two prominent players, on Saturday.
