Westhill Coach Charged With Tipping Off Student Who Was Suspect In Shooting

STAMFORD, Conn. -- An assistant high school basketball coach at Westhill High School has been charged with hindering prosecution for tipping off one of his athletes wanted in a double shooting at the La Quinta Inn in May, according to the Stamford Advocate.

A coach has been arrested for warning one his students that he was wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred near the rear entrance of La Quinta Inn in May, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Jose Amor, 28, was charged Wednesday, June 29, and released on his own recognizance. Stamford police said Amor's arrest was in connection to the May 28 shooting in which two teens were wounded by gunfire by another teen who was identified by school administrators within 24 hours after a video of the incident was released, said the Stamford Advocate.

Phone records obtained by police, showed that Amor had called the student, and warned him that he had been identified, police told the Stamford Advocate.
