Stamford Police Release Video Of Suspect In La Quinta Shootings

STAMFORD, Conn. – Stamford police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in the weekend shooting of two teens at a city hotel.

This video from the Stamford Police Department depicts the shooting of two men behind the La Quinta Inn & Suites on Harvard Avenue Saturday. Police are looking for one suspect and a "person of interest."

A group of men were standing near the rear entrance of the La Quinta Inn & Suites at 135 Harvard Ave. at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, when a man ran up and started firing, police said.

Police described the shooter as a black male, who was wearing white clothing and had a close-cropped haircut. He was wearing a shirt with a design on it.

A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old were wounded but are expected to survive, police said.

The 16-year-old was taken by car to Stamford Hospital with a gunshot wound in his shoulder, police said. A few hours later, the 19-year-old arrived with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and stomach, police said. He told police he had been so drunk the he did not know he had been shot.

Police are also searching for a “person of interest,” a young male who was seen on the security video with the man wielding the gun.

That man was wearing a dark-colored shirt and light-colored shorts.

Police said the shooting suspect is considering armed and dangerous and they are advising people not to approach him.
