Almost three years after a warrant was issued for the arrest of a Pennsylvania college student's accused rapist, he was taken into custody in France, numerous outlets reported on Wednesday, May 14. A 34-year-old tenant died of suicide in his East Rutherford apartment before dawn Wednesday, police reported. Officers who responded to the 3:16 a.m. May 15 call were directed to the second floor of the Mozart Street home, Police Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. Construction Worker Killed In Trench Accident ID'd As Former Rutgers Wrestler, 29
The construction worker killed in a Kenilworth trench accident earlier this month has been identified as a 29-year-old former Rutgers University athlete. Corey Greg Stasenko, of Cranford, was killed on Monday, May 6, during a project on Monroe Street, Daily Voice has learned. : Civilians, Police Unite To Rescue Struck Teen Pinned Beneath Car
Civilians teamed up with police to rescue a teenage girl who was struck and pinned beneath a vehicle Tuesday in North Bergen's Racetrack neighborhood, witnesses said. The victim, believed to be 15, was struck near a bus stop at the corner of Palisade Plaza and Woodcliff Avenue outside James J. Braddock Park shortly before 4:30 p.m. May 14, they said. NJ District To Cut 51 Teachers, Staff In 'Most Difficult' Budget Of Superintendent's Career
In his 31 years of leading school districts, East Brunswick Public Schools Superintendent Victor Valeski said he'd never had to craft a school budget as difficult as the one for 2024-25. There was an $7.8 million rise in costs and $1.3 million reduction in state aid in next year's school budget. "This is by far the hardest and most impactful," Valeski told Daily Voice.
