Lonnie Williams, 27, was sentenced to 92 months in jail, followed by three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to one count of possession of a stolen firearm in April, a statement said. He was arrested on the federal charge last September.

In July 2012, Stamford Police arrested him after officers saw him store a gun in the base of a tree, the statement said. The gun turned out to be a stolen Glock 9mm handgun loaded with seven rounds, the statement said.

Stamford Police charged him with criminal possession of a firearm and altering the identification of a firearm. He is scheduled to appear in state court again in November 2019 on those charges, the state’s judicial website said.

Williams is a convicted felon for narcotics and armed robbery violations, police said last July.
