STAMFORD, Conn. — Former Stamford teacher Karen Breault opening up the Flip Flop Shop in Fairfield led the news this week. Here is a look at what else happened in the city:

  • William Smith, a former assistant fire chief for the Stamford Fire Department, was charged Monday with operating under the influence. He resigned from the department on Friday in connection with an investigation to a car accident he was believed to be involved in. 
  • On Tuesday, The Daily Voice wrote about the Style Bar a new salon specializing in blow outs, which opened up in Stamford's South End recently. 
  • A two-year-old Stamford resident fell out a window in the city's South End Tuesday morning. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. 
  • Stamford Police have been making several big heroin busts recently, including charging five people in three incidents between Tuesday and early Wednesday.
