Nationwide Public Health Alert Issued For Ground Beef Products Due To Possible Contamination
Ground beef products distributed nationwide may be contaminated with E. coli and should not be consumed, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced. FSIS has issued a Public Health Alert on Saturday afternoon, April 20.warning consumers about the issue. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. FSIS said it is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ and food service institutions’ freezers. Popular outdoor gear and flannel shirt retailer L.L. Bean will open its newest store in the region next month. Based in Freeport, Maine, L.L. Bean will open its newest retail store in Ulster County on Friday, May 10, at Ulster Crossing in Ulster. Store officials said the Ulster store is the first of four projected openings in 2024 and the eighth L.L.Bean store to open in New York. It will take the space of the old Bed Bath & Beyond store. A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train overnight in the region. Cable Company Employee Electrocuted While Working In Capital Region
A cable company employee was electrocuted while working on a utility pole in the region. The Albany County incident happened at around 2 a.m. Friday, April 19, in the town of Berne on Long Road. The Spectrum Cable employee was in a bucket truck performing routine equipment maintenance on a utility pole when he came into contact with an electrical line, a spokesperson for Spectrum’s parent company Charter Communications told Daily Voice.
