Head-On Crash Involving School Bus In Region Injures 1
One person was injured when a car allegedly swerved into the path of a school bus in the region, hitting it head-on. The crash occurred in Sullivan County around 3 p.m., Monday, Feb. 5 in the town of Thompson in the vicinity of 907 Old Liberty Road. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the collision and found that a 2023 Kia Forte driven by a 43-year-old woman, was traveling southbound when it swerved into the path of the school bus, said Undersheriff Eric Chaboty, of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office. Woman Found Dead At Six Mile Waterworks Park In Albany
Police are investigating after a woman was found dead at a park in the region. The discovery was made at around 7:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Albany’s Six Mile Waterworks Park, located near the Northway and I-90. An Albany Police spokesperson told Daily Voice the woman’s death is not believed to be suspicious in nature. Her identity had not been released as of Monday afternoon. 3 Charged In Stabbing At Amazon Facility In Region
A man and two women were charged in connection with an alleged stabbing inside an Amazon facility in the Hudson Valley. The incident took place in Dutchess County at the Amazon warehouse in the town of East Fishkill around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1. According to Chief Derrick Cuccia of the town of East Fishkill Police, officers responded to the warehouse for a report of a stabbing. A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in the region that began with a Facebook Marketplace post. The Albany County incident happened at around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 27, 2023, in Bethlehem, in the hamlet of Slingerlands. Bethlehem Police said a woman called 911 reporting an armed robbery in progress in the parking lot of the Plug Power facility, located on Vista Boulevard. An accused drug dealer was nabbed with a large quantity of fentanyl for sale in front of an elementary school in the region, police said. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the City of Poughkeepsie in front of Clinton Elementary School. According to Sgt. Have You Seen Her? Alert Issued For Missing Troy Woman
Police are asking for help in locating a woman from the region who was reported missing. Rensselaer County resident Terry Bass, age 40, was last seen in the Lansingburgh area, according to Troy Police. Detectives did not say when she was last seen or provide a specific location in Lansingburgh. Bass is 5-foot-2 and 110 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Airborne Car Crashes Into Home In Region, Police Say
An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. It didn’t take long for police to track down an accused burglar who allegedly smashed his way into a convenience store in the region. Officers in Saratoga Springs responded to the Stewart’s Shops near Broadway and Circular Street after an alarm was triggered at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 28. The store’s front window had been shattered and there was evidence that someone had gone inside, police said. A college student was killed in and hit-and-run crash near campus in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23 in Ulster County outside SUNY New Paltz where the victim, Ray Rattray, age 22, was a student. The Ulster County Sheriff's Office said the crash occurred on Route 208 in the town of New Paltz between the area of Hawk Drive and Cross Creek Road. A woman who has been on the run for allegedly killing her boyfriend was nabbed in the region. Stephanie M. Vance, age 26, of the city of Philadelphia in Neshoba County, Mississippi, was apprehended by Dutchess County Sheriff's deputies in the town of Pleasant Valley on Thursday, Jan. 11 on a homicide warrant from the State of Mississippi. A 41-year-old woman has been charged with grand larceny after allegedly posing as a law firm employee and collecting fees from potential clients.
