Winter Weather Advisory For Northern Fairfield County As Snow Approaches

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- A winter weather advisory is in effect for northern Fairfield County until Wednesday afternoon, with 2 to 6 inches of snow expected to hit the area overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory is in effect from midnight to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Total snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches is expected to hit the northern part of the county, with localized amounts of up to 6 inches possible. 

The southern part of the county is not expected to get as much snow, with up to 2 inches predicted. Rain and sleet will mix in with the snow in the early morning hours.

Snow will create slippery road conditions throughout the county, including during the morning commute on Wednesday. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving.

The snow will clear up in the afternoon on Wednesday, when the high is expected to be around 36. Wind chill values will be between 25 and 30. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradually become clear, with a low around 16. Wind chill values will be between 10 and 20.

Thursday will be sunny, with a high near 33 and wind chill values between 5 and 15. Thursday night will be clear with a low around 20. It will be mostly sunny on Friday, when the high will be near 38.
