Fairfield Police: Men Forged Checks From Town Home Care Business FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Police are investigating a forged check scheme after two men attempted to cash checks from a Fairfield home care business in Milford. The owner of Loving Hands Home Care reported Tuesday that a Milford bank told her two men — one from Stratford and one from West Haven — were attempting to cash checks that appeared to be from her business, police said. A bank teller cashed the Stratford man’s check for $907, which was made out to him, but became suspicious when the second man came in with an identical check also for $907, police said. Bridgeport City Hall & Annex Delay Thursday Opening Due To Impending Storm BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — All services at City Hall and City Hall Annex will have a delayed noon opening due to the impending snowstorm Thursday. For safety reasons, non-essential employees will report for their duties later than usual, though this is subject to change as weather and road conditions develop. Bridgeport Public Schools are closed Thursday. All city parks will also be closed. Residents may go to www.bridgeportct.gov/snow for the latest updates.

Stay Safe, Westport: Emergency Team Offers Storm Tips, Info WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport officials released snow emergency information Wednesday afternoon in anticipation of a blustery snowstorm expected to wallop Fairfield County on Thursday. Move Your Car: Bridgeport Declares Snow Emergency In Advance Of Storm BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — In anticipation of the winter storm bearing down on the Northeast, Mayor Joe Ganim today declared a snow emergency for the city beginning at noon Jan. 3. To allow for plowing, no parking is allowed on snow emergency streets, and only even side of the street parking is allowed on all other roadways.
