John Jay Students Donate To VA Hospital CROSS RIVER, N.Y. -- A group of John Jay High School students who belong to a veterans club recently donated funds to the VA Hospital in Montrose, according to the Katonah-Lewisboro School District. The students, in the JJ for Vets club, presented a check worth $1,111.11 at the hospital's canteen on March 12, according to the district. Students raised the funds last fall with the Field of Honor, a display of 150 American flags that were displayed on the school's front lawn, the district added. The breakfast is set for the morning of April 9 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It will be at the firehouse at 1 Sun Valley Drive. Admission to the breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Lost Hiker Found In Ward Pound Ridge Reservation WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A hiker who got lost in the woods of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation on Tuesday evening has been found, according to Westchester County Police. The woman used her cell phone to call for help after getting lost, police said, adding that a call was received at 6:10 p.m. County Police, along with local police and fire, responded to the scenario. The woman was found at about 7:20 p.m., county police said, adding that she refused medical attention. Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, located in the towns of Pound Ridge and Lewisboro, is the largest county park.
