Stamford High Students Perform 'Seussical the Musical'

STAMFORD, Conn. — After more than 150 hours of preparation, students from Stamford High School and AITE are prepared to show off their work on an acclaimed musical based on the work of noted children's author Dr. Seuss.

"Seussical the Musical" opens at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the theater at Stamford High School. 

The production is suitable for audiences of all ages and involves work from more than 60 students.

Stamford teacher of the year Gloria Sinaguglia is the music director of this production and Stamford teacher of the year finalist George Beratis is the pit conductor. 

The Strawberry Hill Players recently were recognized by the Connecticut Drama Association for their outstanding production of “The Real Inspector Hound."

The school's performance won top honors at the CDA Festival and also won a Peoples' Choice award.

Three of 12 slots in the Connecticut all-state cast also will be in this production: John Bolognino, Cara Grasso and Chase Roden.

In addition to the opening show April 29, the school will have performances at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30 and Friday, May 6, as well as at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7.
