Do you think President Trump's Twitter attack on MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski is 'beneath the office of the president'?
- Absolutely
- Absolutely not
- Maybe
- Maybe not
- Don't know
"I heard poorly rated Morning Joe speaks badly of me (don't watch anymore)," Trump tweeted. "Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year's Eve and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no."
Brzezinski responded by posting a photo of a Cheerio's box that said: "Made for Little Hands."
MSNBC responded to Trump's tweet in a statement: "It’s a sad day for America when the president spends his time bullying, lying and spewing petty personal attacks instead of doing his job."
Several Republican U.S. senators also took exception to Trump's tweet.
"Please just stop," Sen. Ben Sasse of Nebraska tweeted. "This isn't normal and it's beneath the dignity of your office."
Tweeted Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina: "Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America."
Earlier, Dan Scavino, who serves as Trump's Director of Social Media, also criticized "Morning Joe."
"#DumbAsARockMika and lover #JealousJoe are lost, confused and saddened since Donald Trump stopped returning their calls," Scavino tweeted on his personal Twitter account. "Unhinged."
Scavino later retweeted Trump's attack on Brzezinski. Brzezinski and Scarborough became engaged last month.
