STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 56-year-old Stamford woman has died from her injuries after a hit and run accident Saturday and Stamford Police are looking for the driver of a Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana van that fled the scene.
Police are withholding the name of the woman pending notification of the next of kin.
The accident occurred just before 7 p.m. on Tresser Boulevard near Greenwich Avenue when two pedestrians were struck, police said. The second pedestrian suffered non life-threatening injuries, police said.
Several pieces of the vehicle were left behind at the scene and police believe it is a gray 1996 to 2002 Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana van.
Police are asking the driver to contact them to explain the circumstances of the collision from his or her perspective.
Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the operator of the vehicle involved.
