STAMFORD, Conn. -- Two pedestrians were sent to the hospital with serious injuries after they were struck by a car in a High Ridge Road crosswalk Thursday afternoon, Stamford Police said.
Michael Warshaw, 35, of Stamford, was leaving the High Ridge Center and attempting to make a left turn southbound on High Ridge Road at about 3:30 p.m., police said. His 2015 Audi struck two pedestrians who were attempting to cross the road there, police said.
The pedestrians, Bruce Goldstein, 55, and Sharon Aks, 57, both of Stamford, were transported to Stamford Hospital by Stamford EMS with serious injuries,, police said.
Police said it appears that the pedestrians were in the crosswalk when they were struck. But the accident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed against anyone involved, police said.
