Officers from the Norwalk Police Department and paramedics were dispatched to the courthouse shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20, where there was a report of a stabbing. A State Judicial Marshal reported to the department that the victim of a stabbing had collapsed inside the front doors of the building, bleeding.

Upon arrival, police said that they found the teenage victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment on his injuries. The 18-year-old has since recovered from his stab wound and has been released from the hospital.

According to police, the investigation into the stabbing determined that it took place across the street at 24 Belden Ave. Detectives developed persons of interest for the crime and determined the stabbing was the result of a drug-related robbery. The investigation led to arrest warrants for three teenagers, who were arrested by investigators on Thursday, Nov. 29.

Norwalk residents Gustavo Arriaga and Shamar Askew, both 18, and a juvenile whose name was not released were arrested and charged with robbery, assault and conspiracy. They are currently being held in lieu of $200,000 bond and are scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Friday.
