Two longtime Stamford police officers were promoted by Chief Jon Fontneau during a ceremony on Wednesday, according to the Stamford Police Department.
Lt. Diedrich Hohn, who has been a police officer for 22 years, was promoted to captain and will take over patrol units in the downtown area of town, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Hohn, who ran the Youth Bureau and Bureau of Criminal Investigations, also worked with the Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad, is the department’s eighth captain.
Also promoted was Sgt. Lou DeRubeis who was promoted to lieutenant, Conklin said.
DeRubeis has served with the department for 20 years and will continue to run the department's bomb squad while serving in the patrol area.
Fontneau congratulated both officers following the ceremony at the Government Center.
He said both men were true leaders within the department and their promotions were well deserved.
