Stamford Man's Death Ruled Accidental

STAMFORD, Conn. — The medical examiner’s preliminary tests show that Russell Pinto of Stamford accidentally died of cardiology problems, a statement from the police department said.

The state medical examiner completed the autopsy Tuesday on Pinto, 45, who was found dead Sunday, the statement said. The examiner’s office was still waiting on toxicology results to come in before making a final determination, the release said.

Police were still investigating what caused the trauma to Pinto’s body, even though it did not result directly in his death, the statement said.

Pinto’s body was found Sunday morning, and police were called to the scene because of trauma to his body, the statement said. The home was searched and the scene processed by the Crime Scene Investigations Unit, the statement said.

If anyone has information about Pinto’s whereabouts the night of April 6, they are asked to call the Bureau of Criminal Investigations at 203-977-4417.
