STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Stamford man is facing criminal mischief and arson charges after allegedly setting fire to the front stoop of a city home, police told the Stamford Advocate.
Ralph Vitti, 71, of Lewelyn Road, is alleged to have started the fire at a Charles Street home on Nov. 6, according to the Advocate.
Police identified Vitti as the suspect after viewing surveillance video taken from a neighbor, according to the Advocate.
Vitti, who was arrested Feb. 23, was charged with third-degree arson and second-degree criminal mischief. According to the Advocate, he was released after posting $35,000 bond and is to return to court on Thursday.
