Photographer With Tripod Leads To Lockdown At Multiple Stamford Schools

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Students at a Stamford school mistook a photographer with a tripod for someone with a rifle in the woods, causing a lockdown Friday morning, according to a report in the StamfordAdvocate.com.

The person turned out to be a woman who was photographing fall foliage, the report said. 

Scofield Magnet Middle School, Northeast Elementary School, the Bi-Cultural Day School, the Children’s School, Holy Spirit School and Villa Maria School were all locked down after the sighting was reported to police, according to stamfordadvocate.com. 

The lockdowns were called off within a half-hour, the report said.
