Norwalk Man Caught With Cocaine, Pot In Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop led to a host of drug charges for a 43-year-old man who was found in possession of cocaine, marijuana and other paraphernalia, police said.

Officers from the Milford Police Department stopped a motorist on Lansdale Avenue near the intersection of Bridgeport Avenue, at approximately 3:50 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9, for a traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, police said that Norwalk resident Christopher Hayes, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of marijuana, cocaine and a glass smoking devices.

Hayes was arrested during the stop and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of marijuana and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held in lieu of $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 2 to respond to the charges.
