Joseph Vaccaro, 40, remained held on $75,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with robbery.

Vaccaro tried to flee the store riding a bicycle he took from the display area with two stolen cordless drills in his backpack. He knocked down a security officer who tried to stop him and ran off toward Route 46, turning a shoplifting into a robbery.

"Shortly after Daily Voice posted the photo of the suspect, the Moonachie police department received several tips from viewers," Detective Sgt. Anthony Fugnitti wrote in a news release issued Thursday morning.

Vaccaro, it turned out, had been arrested by Elmwood Park police on Tuesday and was being held at the jail, where Moonachie detectives served him with the new complaint.
