Jorge Santiago, 42, of Derby was arrested on a warrant by Det.Walberto Cotto for an incident last July in an abandoned garage on Park Street, police said.
During the attack, Det. Cotto said Santiago, who had possession of a police-type radio, a badge and, firearm pretended to be a Bridgeport Police Officer and sexually assaulted the young woman in the abandoned garage.
Santiago was charged with aggravated sexual assault, threatening, and impersonation of a police officer, Cotto said.
His bond was set at $500,000.00.
"I want to personally thank all the officers that assisted in this case for their diligent and steadfast commitment to identifying and subsequently arresting Santiago," Cotto said.
