Man Suffering Medical Emergency Slams Into Greenwich Firehouse

GREENWICH, Conn. -- A man suffering a medical emergency crashed into the Glenville Volunteer Fire House, knocking a hole in the building, according to Greenwich Police.

The incident took place around 8:23 a.m. Wednesday when the man lost control of his vehicle and hit the building at 266 Glenville Road, said Lt. John Slusarz.

"Fortunately, the man was not injured further and was able to receive help for his medical problem," Slusarz said.

Building officials are assessing damage to the structure. 

The unidentified man is expected to recover.
