Handbag Thieves Hit Saks Fifth Avenue In Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. -- Just before closing time on Friday, May 20, two men used a crowbar to break into a glass case at the Saks Fifth Avenue at the Town Center Mall in Stamford to steal two handbags worth $28,000, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Stamford police said two men smashed a handbag case at the Saks Fifth Avenue in the Town Center Mall and got away to two handbags worth more than $28,000.

The two, believed to be aged 25 to 35, went straight to the handbag section of the store when they entered, grabbed the Hermes bags and walked out of the store and into a waiting cab. 

According to Stamford police, the two men are also responsible for similar crimes in Westchester on Saturday night and Sunday, said the Stamford Advocate. One of the men was arrested following the Sunday theft, added the Stamford Advocate.
