STAMFORD, Conn. – A female Stamford Police officer bested a male U.S. Marine in an altercation outside a Harbor Point restaurant on Thursday night, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Officers arrived at the restaurant after receiving reports of a fight outside of Sign of the Whale around midnight, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Officers located Miguel Nieto-Vailiant, 22, who initially threw the female officer to the ground, but the officer got back on her feet and returned the favor, the Advocate said.

Nieto-Vailiant was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, third-degree assault and breach of peace, the story said.
