A total of 16 vehicles had their windows smashed and one car was stolen at two different locations early Tuesday, said Stamford Police Sgt. Sean Scanlon.

Eight vehicles had their windows smashed and valuables were stolen at the parking garage on Summer Street, and another eight windows were smashed at the garage on Main Street, Scanlon said. Nothing was taken from the vehicles on Main Street.

In addition, a car was stolen overnight on Nevin Avenue, although the keys were left in the vehicle, he said.

"It's important to remember to remove all valuables and to remove the keys," Scanlon said.
