1 Dead, 1 Injured After Stamford Shooting

STAMFORD, Conn. — A 25-year-old Stamford man died early Saturday morning after being shot Friday night in front of the Cut Masters barbershop on the city’s west side.

The shooting was reported at 10:30 p.m. and police found two victims with gunshot wounds, a release from the police department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations said.

The barbershop located at 91 Richmond Hill Road was the scene of another shooting a little over a year ago

The deceased victim, Jeffrey McNeil, was shot in the torso, the release said. An autopsy is expected for Sunday, the release said.

The second victim, 44, of Stamford was shot in his left leg, the release said. He underwent surgery and remains hospitalized, and is expected to live, the release said.

Witnesses told police that a lone gunman fired multiple rounds into a group of people hanging out in front of the barbershop, the release said. He then fled in a dark colored Honda.

This is the first homicide of 2013, the release said.
