Jeanne Toth, 79, Of Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. – Jeanne Marilyn Toth, a resident of Stamford, died Tuesday, Feb. 23. She was 79.

As a teenager, Toth was a dancer until she was struck with meningitis, which she fought and overcame. Throughout her years, she was an active volunteer in many church-run programs. After the birth of her daughter, she began volunteering at Rogers Elementary School and was also a member of the PTA. For 60 years, she was a member of Noroton Presbyterian Church in Darien, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her daughter, Sara Toth Sancomb.

She was predeceased by her parents, Russell and Dorothy Harper; and her husband, Robert Toth.

Services will be held Saturday, March 5, at the Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Rd, Darien, at 11a.m. in the Chapel. Reception to follow in Horton Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Noroton Presbyterian Church's Deacons Fund.
