Of the approximately 30 students on board, five were taken to Stamford Hospital with minor injuries, News12 said. By 3 p.m., one student had been released and the other four were expected to be released shortly, school spokeswoman Sharon Beadle told the Daily Voice.
The school bus slammed into a power pole, snapping it, and then careened into the porch/deck of a home.
Crews from Eversource (formerly Connecticut Light & Power) were delaying with the broken utility pole more than two hours after the crash.
The homeowner, who was dealing with Eversource workers, declined to comment.
"Not right now," she said as she walked back into her house Friday afternoon.
Stamford Police remained on the scene hours later as repairs were being made. The bus had been moved away from the house and was on the front lawn. A wrecker began to tow it away after 3 p.m.
Snow was picking up Friday afternoon, but it was not clear if the snow played a role in the accident.
