The “Bras For a Cause” event took place last month at Nielsen’s Florist.
Female – and male – artists submitted more than 50 decorated bras, which were displayed during a fundraising party that 150 people attended. All attendees received a complimentary pink rose at the end of the evening.
“We wanted people to be able to enjoy themselves with it and they certainly did,” florist owner Sandy Nielsen-Baumann said in a press release.
“It was perhaps most powerful to see the bras designed by survivors or dedicated to someone in their life who had been affected by breast cancer.”
The proceeds will go to Stamford Hospital’s “Paint the Town Pink” program, which helps uninsured women get early detection cancer screenings.
