Art Studio Views is hosting its 9th annual tour over Labor Day weekend, allowing people to visit the studios of the artists in their community in Tivoli, Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Hyde Park.

The free, self-guided event will be open to the public on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, September 4 from 11am-5pm each day. Patrons will have the opportunity to speak directly with artists about their artwork, be in their actual studio setting, and observe the processes needed to produce their 2-and 3-dimensional creations.

Nadine Robbins and Doris Cultraro are two of the founders of the event and will be opening up their studios this year.

"What started as a conversation between friends about promoting local artists has now blossomed into a premier tour of the creative community of Northern Dutchess," Robbins said. "The tour showcases the wealth of diverse local artists to the public and the tourists coming to our area."

Cultraro said the event has provided tremendous exposure to local artists.

"Showing off our studios, those inner sanctums where we all create artwork, and meeting potential buyers, was extremely exciting," Cultraro said.

Tour visitors are encouraged to pre-plan their their studio itinerary by going to www.artstudioviews.com and reading about each of the artists, where they can also download a brochure and map.

“Art events, such as Art Studio Views, go a long way toward keeping our community vibrant and continuing to make us an attractive place to visit," said Rhinebeck Town Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia.
