The chili restaurant and Stamford landmark was founded by the late Pat Carta of Greenwich more than 50 years ago and has been located at 820 Cove Road for almost 25 years, the Stamford Advocate reported.

Chrissie Carta kept the restaurant going after her father died in 2009, said the Stamford Advocate.

The restaurant's closure has been trending on Facebook.
