Experts in various areas of health and wellness will provide information, insight and knowledge on how to better cope with stress and stay healthy during demanding times. Local panelists in medicine, nutrition and fitness include: Dr. Katherine Takayasu; Lisa Shepard, registered dietician, CSO; and Kelly DuBois, master trainer.

Takayasu completed her two-year fellowship in integrative medicine at Stamford Hospital's Center for Integrative Medicine & Wellness and the University of Arizona. She earned her medical degree and master’s degree in business administration from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She completed her residency in family medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Columbia University in New York City.

Shepard's love for science and food set her on the path to study food and nutrition and ultimately to become a registered dietitian. In this role, different from that of a nutritionist, she is certified to work in a hospital environment and has completed special training to work with oncology patients. Shepard joined the Bennett Cancer Center in 1994 as part of the Women's Intervention Nutrition Study (WINS) clinical trial team.

DuBois holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Rutgers University and an associate’s degree in the physical therapy assistant program from Essex County College. She is a National Academy of Sports Medicine-certified personal trainer, Precision Nutrition-certified coach, C.H.E.K. Institute-certified holistic lifestyle coach, Dragon Door Hardstyle Kettlebell-certified instructor, Animal Flow-certified coach and a certified functional strength coach.

“The Women’s Leadership Council has organized an impressive lineup of notable panelists to educate and inspire our chamber members and the community at large,” said Jack Condlin, president and CEO of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce.

The event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is open to men and women and will feature a healthy lunch. The cost per person is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
