STAMFORD, CONN. -- The first year of any business is full of excitement and challenges, and for Kenna Olson, owner of a Stamford fitness studio, hers was everything she expected ... and then some.
The owner of Precisely Pilates said she learned that running a studio is much more than just teaching.
There were also contractors and instructors to hire, schedules to develop and finances to manage … and then, there are the customers.
Its small group classes, and “dedicated, knowledgeable and caring” instructors make Precisely more accessible to those who would not ordinarily step into a studio, Olson said.
“Truly, we have built more than just a studio, we have a community of people who care about themselves and each other,” she said.
Olson said she expects the business to continue to grow.
Among the studio’s offerings: classical mat and apparatus; Pilates; barre exercises; and cutting-edge fusion classes.
“We strongly believe in the genius of Joe Pilates, but we are also committed to offering our clients a variety of classes to stay challenged and engaged,” Olson said.
“The dance community has been involved with Pilates for a long time, so we felt like adding barre to our curriculum was natural and provides variety for our clients,” she added.
Precisely Pilates offers over 40 classes per week, as well as private and semi-private training.
The studio is located at 9 High Ridge Road, Stamford, and is open 7 days a week.
