STAMFORD, Conn. -- Gov. Dannel Malloy may have lifted the travel ban on local roads , but the streets in Stamford are still covered with slushy snow at midday Tuesday.

Few vehicles are seen venturing out due to the treacherous conditions in the city.

An overnight snowstorm was not the blizzard that was predicted, but it still dropped about a half-foot of snow across Stamford.

Light snow continues to fall on Tuesday, and strong winds are blowing the fine, powdery snow across the roads.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday with blowing snow. Temperatures will remain in the low 20s and another 2 to 4 inches of snow may accumulate.
