Rain Heading For Stamford As Holidays Wrap Up

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — The weather will be chilly and wet as Fairfield County wraps up the New Year's holiday and prepares to begin the workweek.

On Monday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain showers into the afternoon, with a high near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The chance or rain increases in the evening, with periods of drizzle or light rain in the forecast. 

The drizzle and light rain will continue on Tuesday as everyone heads back to work. The high temperature will be near or just above 40 degrees. 

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers in the afternoon and a high near 45. 

Temperatures will drop Thursday as clouds move in, with a high near freezing in the daytime and falling to about 20 degrees by nighttime.

On Friday, there is a 30 percent chance of snow showers with a high near 30.
