One Day Of Rain In Stamford Before Sun Returns For Labor Day

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Rain is expected to continue falling Sunday across Fairfield County as the remains of Harvey move across the Northeast, the National Weather Service said.

But there will be sun before the Labor Day holiday weekend comes to an end.

Rain — and possibly a thunderstorm — will fall before 8 a.m., with showers likely and a thunderstorm possible through the rest of Sunday. Patchy fog is possible before 1 p.m. The high will be only near 67 degrees. 

The chance of precipitation is 80 percent, with a half-inch of new rainfall possible.

The temperature will drop to about 55 degrees by Sunday night. 

But on Monday — Labor Day — the sun will return, with a high near 79 degrees. 

Monday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 64 degrees. South wind 8 to 10 mph.

For back to work and school on Tuesday, it will feel more like summer. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 82 degrees.
