Last Day Of Spring Will Be A Bright And Sunny One In Stamford

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- After Monday's storms dropped a couple inches of rain on parts of Fairfield County, residents can look forward to a couple days of sunnier and more pleasant weather.

There will be plenty of opportunities to go to the beach this week, when the sun will be shining and the weather will be in the 80s.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 83 and a west wind of 10 to 16 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62. A west wind of 5 to 9 mph will become calm after midnight.

Wednesday is the official first day of summer, and is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 81. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. A light west wind could increase to 6 to 11 mph in the morning, and winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 58.

It will continue to be mostly sunny on Thursday, when the high will be near 80. There will be a light and variable wind that will become a southwest wind of 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 66.

It will be partly sunny on Friday, with a high near 84, though there is a chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Friday night will see a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, but will otherwise be mostly cloudy with a low around 67.

The weather should be nice this weekend. Saturday will be partly sunny, with a high near 83, while Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high near 81.
