Heavy Rain, Fog Headed Toward Stamford For Wednesday

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Tuesday may be unseasonably warm and sunny, but the National Weather Service is predicting heavy fog and rain for Wednesday across southern Connecticut.

For the rest of Tuesday afternoon, temperatures will be clear and warm, as highs nudge 50 degrees. Overnight, clouds will increase as temperatures drop to around 35 degrees.

But Wednesday looks foggy and rainy. The latest forecasts call for three-quarters to an inch of rain during the day. Temperatures will be warm, with a high of 52 degrees predicted.

The rain will likely continue through Wednesday night and overnight into Thursday with the chance of precipitation at 80 percent. Estimates are for another half-inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain overnight. Temperatures will remain in the mid-40s.

Patchy fog is expected to roll in around 3 a.m., with the chance of showers dropping to 30 percent on Thursday before clearing out entirely later in the evening. Daytime highs will be about 45 degrees, while the evening low will be near 30 degrees.
