As much of America holds a death grip on their guns, we should be asking why we are so dependent on the idea of protecting ourselves and from what? We live in a post-9/11 society in which fear is bred 24 hours a day through television and media. Other countries with similar social structures such as the UK don’t have this problem and don’t have guns in the hands of every man, woman and child. If Obama loses the election today you can thank the bamboozling indoctrinations of the far right. The entire globe overwhelming supports our president while the fringe sect of conservatism demonizes and degrades him to no end. Most of this is financed by the rich who want to keep their stranglehold on the flow of wealth in our country with their niggardization of Freedom of Speech. Well over a year after Bin Laden’s death and over 10 years since 9/11, American citizens are still blindly allowing their civil liberties to be taken away one piece of legislation at a time. How much freedom are we willing to sacrifice to feel safe? What difference did it make killing Bin Laden and Hussein if nothing has changed? Republicans would have us believe this is bad for America.
