It "will be closed for several hours," police said. "Evening commute will be affected. Detour signs to be put in place."

The area is near the Stanwich Congregational Church and the Stamford border, north of the Merritt Parkway. 

Police said the roadway was closed after a vehicle hit low-hanging wires in the area, according to Patch.com.
