Young Stamford Tennis Team 2nd At National Tournament

STAMFORD, Conn. – A tennis team from Stamford representing the New England Section of the United State Tennis Association finished second at the USTA Junior Team Tennis 14-and-under Advanced National Championships last week in South Carolina.

The tournament brought together the top 32 teams at the intermediate and advanced levels from various USTA Sections throughout the country.

The New England team, also known as the Solaris Tennis Team, lost to a team from Austin, Texas, in the championship match. Solaris defeated a team from Virginia Beach, Va., in the semifinals.

The team is coached by John DeFlippo and includes Trevor Faulk, Bobby Neuner, Kateri Martin, Lindsey Evans, Anna Rogers, Timothy Derby and Brian Niguidula. The team plays out of Solaris Racquet Club in Stamford. It was formerly known as Stamford Indoor Tennis.
