Hoch, 11, had five hits and seven RBI as Carpentry Unlimited won in a game played on May 12. Longtime coaches in the former Springdale Little League, which merged with North Stamford last year, believe it is the first time it has happened since that league formed in 1953.

Carpentry (9-5-1) ripped 25 hits with Daniel Vitti and Wyatt Lisack have three apiece. Emerson Day had two hits.

After a sluggish start, Carpentry Unlimited has won eight of its last nine games and stands in fourth place in the league. Instant Replay (15-0) stands atop the league.
