STAMFORD, Conn. – Westhill High School’s Claire Howlett was named the Connecticut Girls Track and Field Player of the Year by Gatorade on Wednesday.
Howlett, a junior, won the State Open in the 1,600 and 3,200 earlier this month. Her time of 10:20.03 set a state record, which was subsequently broken by Hannah DeBalsi of Staples High School at the New England Championships.
