Haggerty is having a breakout year at RPI (8-10-4), scoring 18 goals and nine assists. He is second in the country in goals and already has more points than he had all of last season.
“I’ve always believed in myself as an offensive player,” Haggerty said in the article in the College Hockey News. “It’s been tough the last couple of years with scoring and whatnot, and then this year things started falling into place. It’s boosted my confidence as a player because now I know I can do more than I’ve ever done in the past.”
Haggerty began his career at Trinity Catholic in Stamford before earning a spot on the U.S. National Development Team of the United States Hockey League. He helped the team win a gold medal in the 2011 U.S. World Championships.
