The league's Stamford FC U11 Boys Premier team faced three opponents from Connecticut, including the sixth-ranked U11 boys' premier team in the state and last season’s CJSA Premier league champions, and one from Rhode Island.

The team only gave up one goal as it played through driving, frigid rain, 25 mile-per-hour wind gusts and snow to earn first place in the boys' U11 Division.

The final scores were:

  • Stamford FC U11 Boys' Premier vs. Fairfield United U11 B-Ole (5-0)
  • Stamford FC vs. CT Rush Central 04/05 Boys (3-0)
  • Stamford FC vs. CLCF Soccer U11 Boys (5-0)
  • Stamford FC vs. the Bayside United Strikers (5-1)

“Congratulations to these boys for maintaining an excellent level of play, and a good attitude, in the midst of a fun, yet challenging ‘not quite spring’ weekend,” said manager Christina Vander Kolk.

Before turning premier this season, the Stamford FC U11 boys won the fall 2015 Connecticut Cup. In their advance to the CT Cup finals, the then SYSL U11 Boys' White team won five games, against Wethersfield Fury, Wilton U11 Blue, Newington Strikers, New Canaan Red, and Farmington U11A before defeating the Weston U11 Blue team at the Cup final.

The Connecticut Cup is a statewide competition in which travel teams from around Connecticut in the same age group compete against one another.

The Connecticut Cup for the U11 age group fielded 80 teams in fall 2015. In league play, the Hurricanes finished their fall 2015 season in first place with a 9-1-0 record.

Founded in 1977, the nonprofit Stamford Youth Soccer League provides opportunities to play soccer for youth from 4-19.
